Police resume bar checks

City police resumed their walk-through of local bars last week following a three-month hiatus, according to information disclosed at a city council meeting Nov. 28.

Threats of a pending lawsuit against the city prompted Mayor Rich Sykes to look at ways law enforcement could reduce its presence in local bars.
