Voters have said 'enough'

Tuesday, November 29, 2016

Dear editor,

Sometimes it's good to be wrong.

Like the battered wife who finally left her abusive husband, the people in this country have finally stood up and said "enough." Never thought I'd see it.

Trump is right. It is a rigged system, but it wasn't rigged enough this time, and we should now see a long-overdue restoration of the FBI and the DOJ.

Speaking of law enforcement, congrats to Mike Hollinshead. He'll do a good job, and while few actually know it, his new job just got a lot easier, because a Constitutional Supreme Court will not be sending black SUVs out here to trample on the rights of honest citizens.

Be glad you don't live in Phoenix, though. "Sheriff Joe" did not get re-elected this time. The old "rat-catcher" was too tough on the rats, as the voting complexion of Maricopa County continues to change.

Sad. The "inmates" will be "running the asylum" down there before too long.

Overall, though, I was stunned over the election. I have so often said (even publicly), "What is it going to take? How bad do things have to get? Or are we going to have to do this as our founders did?" Honestly, I had totally lost faith and confidence that it would ever be done at the ballot box.

Well, I was wrong. I'm glad I was wrong and freely admit it, because sometimes in life it's good to be wrong.
