Angeline "Gloria" Swails, 80, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on Friday, Nov. 25, 2016. A viewing will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

A celebration of her life will be Friday, Dec. 2, 2016 at noon at the Christian Baptist Church in Mountain Home. Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Gloria was born in Hartford, Conn., and was raised in Tampa, Fla., where she met the love of her life, Joe. They started their life journey by going to Key West, Fla., where their daughter, Kathy, was born.

The journey continued to the West with many detours along the way. They ended up in Burley, Idaho, where their son, Joe Jr., was born. Joe Sr. was transferred with Safeway to Mountain Home, where they would settle.

Gloria was proud to be one of the Original Military Affairs Community Of 50 Members (The Shifty 50 as Joe Sr. used to call them). She was honored to be representing our wonderful and diverse community.

She was also the President of the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce, The High Reachers Association for the Physically and Mentally Handicapped and served on the State of Idaho Governors Mental Health Advisory Board.

Gloria owned and operated a family floral business for 35 years, where she used her boundless artist abilities to influence and teach others the skills that would propel them in their future endeavors. She was the President of Snake River Valley Florist, Idaho State Florist Association and Chairman and District Representative of FTD District 11 I&J.

Gloria was a FTD Master Manager and Designer. She was also the Grand Marshall for Air Force Appreciation Day.

Gloria love to travel and did often with her many positions in the floral industry. She went to Hawaii, Japan, China and many of the lower 48 states. She also traveled to Alaska, where her son lived, and to Mexico several times.

She was a proud member of The Christian and Baptist Church, where she organized spa day to honor the hard working women of the church. Also, "Sedar Supper" and the "Hanging of the Greens"

She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy (Joe) Ferbrache; son Joe Swails Jr. of Mountain Home; her grandchildren Dust'an (Adam) Whytoch, Kristin Swails of Las Vegas, Jered (Victoria) Ferbrache of Kuna and Abrie Ferbrache of Boise; and great-grandchildren JadeLynn, Kirsten, Ashton, Jered, Jackson; also many other family members, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by the Love of her Life, Joe, and her parents.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Krzysztof Ziola from Desert Sage, who went above and beyond; the staff and St. Luke's Elmore, who took wonderful care of Gloria; and also Horizon Hospice and Health Care, especially Susan.
