Elmore County's newly elected peace officer outlines priorities, key issues affecting local citizens

The election results became final several days earlier, but Mike Hollinshead admitted that the realization still hadn't hit him. As Elmore County's first newly elected sheriff in more than three decades, he admits he's a bit overwhelmed at what he will face when he's officially sworn in.

"To be honest, it really hasn't sunk in yet," Hollinshead said. "It was unexpected; totally unexpected."
