F-35 fighter catches fire

Seven F-35s, along with pilots and support teams from Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., were at the base earlier this month to conduct flight training in the base's range complex.

An F-35 fighter pilot escaped injury as their jet caught fire during an incident reported at Mountain Home Air Force Base last Friday.

According to a press statement released by the base, the single-seat fighter, assigned to the 56th Fighter Wing at Luke Air Force Base, Ariz., experienced a ground emergency around 12:20 p.m. that afternoon.
