Jimmy Gould whips up a batch of beer batter bread as he competes in a Dutch oven cooking contest, held Saturday at the post headquarters. Legion members came together to test their cooking skills by preparing several main dishes and desserts that were judged by local representatives.
Felicia Wadsworth adds berries to her cast iron oven as she starts work on a lemon blueberry dump cake. The cake was served along with homemade pork loin. Wadsworth took top honors during the cookoff while Gould finished second overall in addition to earning the best bread title. Along with the cooking competition, Legion representatives also held a raffle as a fundraiser for the post. Jerry Rost came away as one of the top recipients, winning a Ruger bolt action rifle as well as a car detailing kit. Five weapons were raffled off that afternoon along with $200 and $100 gift cards from Cabelas.
