Substation, rezone plans approved

Plans to build an electrical substation on the west of Mountain Home and an effort to rezone a section of county land for industrial use gained approval during a meeting July 20.

The Elmore County Planning and Zoning Commission started the public hearing by taking testimony regarding a conditional use permit submitted by Idaho Power to build the substation on land near the city airport.
