Norman Rhoades

Norman Leon Rhoades, age 53 of Mountain Home, passed away on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the Veterans Hospital in Boise. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the American Legion Post 26, located at 515 East 2nd South St., in Mountain Home. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Norman was born July 17, 1962, in Omaha, Neb., the son of John and Della Rhoades. He graduated from Maryville High School in May 1981. He married Robin Volner in December 1980, and they had four children, Danielle, Jamy, Benjamin and Samantha.

Norman joined the U.S. Air Force in June 1981 and served 23 1/2 years.

On July 22, 1994, Norman married Candy Hamilton, and together they resided in Mountain Home.

Norman is survived by his wife, Candy of Mountain Home; his children Danielle White, who is stationed in Germany, Jamy Gerwatowski and her husband, Jason, of Michigan, son Benjamin and his wife, Sherry Rhoades of Michigan, and daughter Samantha Rhoades of Michigan; six grandchildren; his mother and father, John and Della Rhoades of Missouri; and his sisters Carla and her husband Bob Short of Wisconsin and Colleen and her husband Matt Olsen of Kansas. He is also survived by some cousins.
