Free fishing day slated for June 11

The annual free fishing day event runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. June 11 at Legacy Park.

Amateur anglers are expected to join seasoned fishermen at Legacy Park on June 11 during a yearly event aimed at introducing people of all ages to the sport.

Hosted by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, the free fishing day event remains the one time of the year where people can fish anywhere in the state without a license.

At designated locations across southern Idaho, including the pond at Legacy Park in Mountain Home, fishing experts will have equipment available for others to use during the day. These experts will also provide advice to help novice anglers learn the ins and outs of fishing.
