Local representative sentenced on wildlife violation

State lawmaker Pete Nielsen had his hunting license suspended for one year and was ordered to pay civil penalties and other fines during a hearing at the Elmore County Courthouse May 17.

Nielsen, who currently represents Mountain Home and surrounding communities, pled guilty to a single count of unlawfully possessing a spike elk with an anterless tag as part of an agreement he reached with the county prosecutor's office.
