Recreation district finishes redistricting action

City officials approached the Western Elmore County Recreation District directors about helping to jointly fund a skate park at Legacy Park. The new skate facility has been in the master plan for a number of years and would replace the existing skateboard park in Richard Aguirre Park, which is in need of repairs.

The Western Elmore County Recreation District completed a redistricting effort while announcing they would accept applications to fill a vacant seat on their board during a meeting May 18.

The third seat on the recreation district has remained vacant for more than four months since subdistrict director Molly Marsh resigned in protest during a January meeting.
