Two Tigers make Idaho golf finals

Two Mountain Home High School students qualified for this year's state golf tournament following their appearance a district-level event.

Marcus Egusquiza and Leila Ayers earned seats at the state finals after they led the Mountain Home team at districts.

Egusquiza finished the event with an 82 during the boys competition with Ayers trailing by six strokes in the girls event.

Overall, Mountain Home finished third overall out of the six competing teams with a final score of 382.

Bishop Kelly finished first with 279 while Middleton was second at 358.

In other individual results at districts, Cole Garrett carded a 97, Michael Hoskins hit a 101, Anthony Desantis trailed by a stroke at 102 and Caleb Degroot finished the day at 106.

Egusquiza and Ayers competed this week at the state tournament, which wrapped up Tuesday afternoon at the Falcon Crest Golf Course near Kuna.
