Shayla Reed had a big night for the Lady Tigers, but nine errors that evening allowed the Lady Cougars to roar to a 13-3 win.

Mountain Home scored a run at the top of the first before Caldwell took a three-run lead after one. The Lady Cougars added three more in the second while keeping the Lady Tigers at bay.

Caldwell put the game out of reach in the bottom of the third with six runs with the Lady Tigers posting their last two runs in the fourth and fifth.

Ryan Floyd picked up two of the team's hits that evening with Taylor Wilson and Jaden Lancaster picking up runs for Mountain Home. Ashten Harrigan led the Lady Tigers at the mound with four strikeouts, including 13 first-strike pitches after three innings of play.

The Lady Tigers had a solid inning at the bottom of the six with three runs earned, but Skyview's six-run inning in the fourth gave them the edge they needed to claim the first of a two-game series Thursday.

Skyview led by two in the first and added another in the third before the Lady Tigers entered the scoreboard at the bottom of the inning. That's when the Lady Hawks went on a six-run rally to put the game out of reach.

The Lady Tigers kept Skyview scoreless in the final three innings while picking up four more runs to narrow the deficit to four.

Two of Mountain Home's eight hits that afternoon came off walks from Breanna Tindall and Jesslyn Kreibs. Meanwhile, Ryan Floyd pitched four innings for the Lady Tigers that included four strikeouts and 11 first-strike pitches. Ashten Harrigan added three more strikeouts and six first-strike pitches in three innings of play.

Prior to the game, the Lady Tigers paused to honor its graduating players during this year's senior night observance.

The Lady Tigers saw significant improvement during the evening, but their "youth" as a team came into play and proved costly, according to coach Ron Nicolosi.

"Those mistakes hurt us," the Mountain Home coach said.

Mountain Home, 11, Skyview 15

Mountain Home held a four-run lead through five innings of play before Skyview slammed in six runs at the bottom of the sixth as they edged the Lady Tigers by four on Friday.

With the score knotted at one going into the third, the Lady Tigers shot out to a 6-1 lead before the Lady Hawks added two more to narrow the deficit.

Mountain Home added five more in the next two innings with Skyview adding six more to trail by two. The Lady Tigers remained scoreless going into the final inning before the Lady Hawks put the game away.

"This is a game we should've won. We led the whole game," Nicolosi said.

It was one bad inning that cost the Lady Tigers the win, he added.

"We allowed them to score and couldn't answer back in the seventh," the coach said.

Shayla Reed led Mountain Home on offense with three RBIs. Jaden Lancaster scored three hits for the Lady Tigers, all by walks, with Vanessa Sable picking up two more walks for the team. On defense, Ashten Harrigan earned a strikeout at the mound along with eight first-strike pitches after four innings of play.

Nicolosi added that the Lady Tigers are playing some good softball as the regular season draws to a close but the team hasn't been playing its best. However, he added that the district playoffs represent a whole new season for the Lady Tigers, who could blossom and show what they're capable of achieving.
