A time for art, books

Monday, May 16, 2016

With samples of his work behind him, local artist Spencer Buchi puts pen to paper as he sketches ideas for future projects during the spring art show, held Friday and Saturday at the Mountain Home Public Library. Hosted by the Mountain Home Arts Council, the event featured the work of eight local artists. During the art gathering, visitors had the opportunity to talk to some of the participating artists about their work, some of which was also up for sale both days.

Grace Charles, 8, found a quiet corner in the library's conference room to check out a book she hoped that her mother would purchase for her during a book sale that was held in conjunction with the art program. The Friends of the Library organization holds the sales of used paperback and hardbound books to raise money to benefit the city library's programs.
