Jacquelyn Delores Rentie, age 69 of Mountain Home, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at St. Paul Baptist Church, 1320 West Bannock Street in Boise, followed by inurnment at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 2 p.m.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Jacquelyn was born the first of five children to Hershel and Dorothy Shipp II on Nov. 25, 1946, in Orlando, Fla. She graduated from Jones High School in Orlando, and in her senior year, she was voted the Most Dressed Girl in her class. After graduating, she attended Horticultural School in Orange County, Fla., where she graduated with honors.

Jacquelyn married James J. Rentie Jr. of Oklahoma City, Okla., and they were happily married for 45 years. Together, they have one child, James J. Rentie III. James III is married to Renee Rentie, and they have two children, Ramiah and Joren, and Jacquelyn was a proud grandmother of her grandchildren.

Jacquelyn is the stepmother to Haroleroy A. Rentie, of Topeka, Kan.; Twillow C. (Rentie) Campbell of Allen, Texas; Trineice E. (Rentie) Campbell of Statesboro, Ga.; and Talisa L. (Rentie) Pollard of Little Elm, Texas.

Jacquelyn recently retired from the Mountain Home Air Force Base Exchange (AAFES), where she was a Sales Associate for 33 years. Jacquelyn is a Past Matron of Alfred E. David, Chapter #8, Order of Eastern Star located in Mountain Home, becoming a member in 1982. She served as Worthy Matron from 1988-1990 and was a member of the Phyllis Chapter of the Phylaxis Society, International Society of the Order of the Eastern Star. Jacquelyn was a past Grand Matron of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, for Jurisdiction of Oregon, Idaho and Montana, Inc., from 2012-2014.

Past Grand Matron Jacquelyn D. Rentie was elected Grand Lecturer of the Prince Hall Grand Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, for the Jurisdiction of Oregon, Idaho and Montana, Inc., in 2015, where she served until her demise. She is a former charter member of the Black History Committee in Mountain Home, where she served as Vice President. Jacquelyn loved being an Eastern Star and her Chapter.

Jacquelyn is survived by her husband James J. Rentie Jr. of Mountain Home, son James J. (Renee) Rentie III of Washington, brother Hershel L. (Pam) Shipp III of Florida and sister Cynthia D. Shipp of Florida along with her grandchildren, step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both her parents, her brother, Alvin, and her sister, Sandra.
