Representatives with the Mountain Home American Legion Auxiliary Unit 26 stand beside Mayor Sykes as he signs a proclamation declaring May 21 as Poppy Day in Mountain Home. The red poppy remains a symbol of the sacrifice those in the nation's military have endured in all conflicts since World War I. In signing the proclamation, the mayor asks all citizens pay tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the name of freedom by wearing the memorial poppy on May 21. Residents can pick up a poppy at D & B Supply, the local Albertsons grocery store and at the Mountain Home Farmers Market.
