Tennis Tigers fall to Kuna, Caldwell

Mountain Home High School's tennis team found the competition tough as they battled teams from Kuna and Caldwell last week.

For the second time this season, the Tigers were blanked by the Kavemen on April 26, but Mountain Home did win more games in each set than earlier in the season.

In boys' singles play, Nathan Gibbons lost, 0-6, 0-6; Miguel Pelletier fell, 6-7, 2-6; while Alex Buchholz went down, 0-6, 0-6. In boys' doubles, Abram Martin and Jean Gilliland lost, 1-6, 2-6; while Abrahan Salas and Davis Parrett lost, 2-6, 1-6.

In mix doubles, both Brandon Hultenius and Mady McCurdy lost, 2-6, 1-6; while Parker Noyce and Jessica Noyce were blanked, 0-6, 0-6.

In girls' singles, Rebecca Martin lost, 0-6, 0-6; Caitlyn Whitfield fell, 1-6, 0-6; while Krystalyn Raab went down, 0-6, 0-6.

In their second meeting of the season, the Tigers' boys and girls teams lost to the Cougars during an away game Thursday.

In boys' singles, Nathan Gibbons lost, 1-6, 0-6; Miguel Pelletier lost another close one, 4-6, 1-6; while the Alex Buchholz went down, 1-6, 0-6. In boys' doubles, Abram Martin and Jean Gilliland, lost 0-6, 0-6; while Abrahan Salas and David Parrett lost, 0-6, 2-6.

In mix doubles, Brandon Hultenius and Mady McCurdy lost, 0-6, 1-6; while Parker Noyce and Jessica Noyce fell 1-6, 1-6.

In girls' singles, Rebecca Martin lost, 0-6, 0-6; Rhyan Kelley fell, 2-6, 1-6; while Simone Aguero went down, 0-6, 0-6. In girls' doubles, Nisa Phelps and Natalie Moyett lost, 0-6, 2-6; while Krystalynn Raab and Emily Hensley went down, 0-6, 1-6.

The Tigers tennis team closes out its regular season this week. They hosted Middleton on Tuesday during senior day. On Thursday, May 5, the tennis squad travels to Sun Valley to play Wood River and the Community School in a tri-meet match.
