Lady Tigers softball team faces four additional losses

Errors continued to plague the Lady Tigers as the softball team faced four additional losses as their regular season enters its final days.

Mountain Home 4,

Bishop Kelly 17

Mountain Home trailed by a run at the bottom of the first inning before the Lady Knights went on a five-run rally in the second as Bishop Kelly ran off with a 17-4 win April 22.

Mountain Home added its final two runs at the bottom of the four. But by then, Bishop Kelly was already ahead, 12-4, before the Lady Knights sealed the win at the top of the fifth.

Shayla Reed led the Lady Tigers with two RBIs with Jaden Lancaster adding a walk for Mountain Home. Lancaster had 13 first-strike pitches for the Lady Tigers after four innings of play with Ashten Harrigan adding five more first-strike pitches after a single inning at the mound.

Mountain Home 0, Middleton 30

Despite two hits during the afternoon, five errors cost the Lady Tigers dearly as they fell in a 0-30 shutout against Lady Vikings on April 26.

Middleton erupted with 10 runs at the bottom of the first and added 11 more in the second while keeping the Lady Tigers scoreless. The Lady Vikings added three more in the third before clinching the win with six more at the bottom on the fourth.

Ashten Harrigan led the Lady Tigers on the mound with a strikeout and 12 first-strike pitches after two innings of play. Paris Mederios added nine more first-strike pitches during the afternoon.

Mountain Home 2, Kuna 16

Mountain Home mustered seven hits, but four errors proved costly as they lost to Kuna's Lady Kavemen on Thursday.

Jaden Lancaster scored two RBIs for Mountain Home that gave the Lady Tigers its two runs at the bottom of the first. However, Kuna led by two in the opening inning before unleashing seven runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to seal the win.

Ashten Harrigan had three strikeouts along with 18 first-strike pitches after four innings of play for the Lady Tigers. Jaden Lancaster picked up another first-strike pitch for Mountain Home during one inning on the mound.

Mountain Home 0, Kuna 9

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers were unable to turn three hits into runs as they remained outgunned against the Lady Kavemen during a 0-9 loss Friday afternoon.

With both teams remaining scoreless after the first inning, Kuna earned its first run at the bottom of the second before adding six more in the next two innings. The Lady Kavemen clinched the win with two more in the sixth.

The Lady Tigers ended up with six errors during the afternoon, which allowed Kuna to run up the scoreboard.

Ashten Harrigan continued to lead Mountain Home on the mound with a strikeout and 24 first-strike pitches in six innings of play.

Those earning hits for the Lady Tigers were Paris Mederios, Jaden Lancaster and Breanna Tindall, all of which were off walks.

The Lady Tigers wrap up their regular season this week. They traveled to Caldwell on Tuesday and will host Skyview on Thursday, May 5, at Memmelaar Field. The regular season ends this Friday as Mountain Home faces Skyview on the road.
