Mayor Rich Sykes is joined by Mountain Home Elks Lodge representatives as he sign a proclamation declaring the week of May 1 to 7 as Youth Week in Mountain Home. Sponsored each year by the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks, the week-long observance pays tribute to the community's junior citizens and the need to provide guidance, inspiration and encouragement to these individuals as they prepare to become tomorrow's leaders. "No event could be more deserving of our support and participation than one dedicated to these young people who represent the nation's greatest resources and who in the years ahead will assume the responsibility for the advancement of our free society," the proclamation stated. Joining the mayor to witness the proclamation signing were, from left, Cristena Ford, Stacy Swenson, Lorin Ford, Annette McAlpin, Mark Wetherell and Tom Narramore.
