Ronald Bates

Memorial services for Ronald "Ron" J. Bates will be held April 9, 2016, at 1 p.m. at the Glenns Ferry LDS Church, Glenns Ferry, Idaho.

Ron was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, on May 29, 1942, the eldest child of Ruby and J. Jones Bates. He was a long-time resident in Hamer and Terreton, Idaho.

He retired to Hammett, Idaho, where he remained until his hospitalization. He passed on March 9, 2016, following a long battle with vascular dementia.

The family asks that you join us in a celebration of his life, and while we are sure there will be tears, we would ask that if you have a story about Ron, especially one that will bring smiles and laughter, you come to share that as well.

Due to Ron's illness, the family requests that if you own something purple, you wear it and that in lieu of flowers, there will be donation envelopes available to contribute in his memory to the Greater Idaho Alzheimer's Association.
