Caucus results - Sanders wins in Elmore, Owyhee counties

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders came out victorious in Elmore and Owyhee counties following Democratic caucuses held in both counties on Tuesday.

According to preliminary results from both counties, Sanders held a significant lead over former secretary of state Hillary Clinton following two rounds of voting.

In Elmore County, Sanders received 160 votes during the first round and Clinton earned 75 with seven registered Democrats casting undeclared ballots. Sanders maintained that lead in the second round with 156 votes while Clinton received 77.

Owyhee County had 62 registered caucus participants on Tuesday. Following both rounds of balloting, the results remained unchanged with 40 votes for Sanders and 22 for Clinton.
