Aug. 12, 1946 -- Mar. 20, 2016

Ronald "Daw" Duane Lemmon was born on Aug. 12, 1946, to David and Arlee Lemmon in Boise, Idaho.

Ron's early years were spent in Meadows, Idaho, with his five siblings. Ron's family moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, in 1956 to help with his grandparent's farm. The Lemmon family also ran the Mountain Home Cold Storage and Farm Boy Market.

Ron, his brothers and close friends were involved in the Boy Scouts program, achieving the rank of Eagle Scout.

Ron graduated from Mountain Home High School in 1964 and then attended Boise Junior College until enlisting in the United States Navy. He attended the Nuclear Naval Program in 1966 and completed in 1969 as a qualified Nuclear Reactor Operator.

Thereafter, Ron served on the USS Nathan Hale Nuclear Sub, making runs from Pearl Harbor to Guam during the Vietnam Conflict until 1972.

Ron was stationed in Hawaii at the end of his service, where he met Kathy (his wife) and her daughter, Amae, whom he adored at first sight. Ron and Kathy were married Nov. 28, 1972.

Ron returned to Boise following his military service, where he learned carpentry from his brothers and became a framing subcontractor. Eventually, Ron became the construction Superintendent on the first building at the Micron Complex and several other Micron facilities.

Ron also worked on various projects throughout Boise, including the Hoff Building and the Pavilion (a.k.a. Taco Bell Arena).

Ron and Kathy moved to McCall, Idaho in 1990, where Ron continued his work as a framing contractor. Ron and Kathy subsequently retired in 2015 and moved to Bend, Ore., to be with their two grandchildren, who Ron loved dearly.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; one older brother, David; and a younger sister, Marilyn. Ronald is survived by his wife, Kathleen of 43 years; his daughter, Amae Denise Lemmon of Boise; son Tanner Edward Lemmon of Bend, Ore.; two grandchildren, Ava Mae and Baird Magnuson; brother Warren of Boise, Idaho; sister Carolyn of Nampa, Idaho, and James "Jim" of Salem, Ore.

Ron enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, shooting pool, fishing, and RUGBY. He talked with everyone and anyone who would listen. His family and friends lovingly referred to him as "The Mayor."

Ron was greatly loved by everyone; he will be deeply missed. A memorial will be held in Boise, Idaho, at 5516 Hill Road on April 2, 2016, at 1 p.m., with a potluck celebration to follow.
