Burton Westphal

Burton Wayne "Pa" Westphal, age 87, passed away from natural causes early Sunday morning, on March 20, 2016, in his Grand View home, surrounded by family.

Burton was born Nov. 20, 1928, in Jones, Mich., to George F. and C. Allene Westphal.

He married Marilee R. Bates on Oct. 14, 1948. Together, they raised 13 children. Burton was a farmer most of his life.

After he retired, Burton and his wife moved to Grand View in May 1991. The move came after several years of visiting and hunting in the area.

Burton worked for several farmers in the Grand View area, but he always had time to hunt, fish, travel and spend time with family and friends.

The family would like to thank Treasure Valley Hospice for their assistance over the last few months of Burton's life.

Burton is survived by nine children, three in Grand View, Mildred Westphal, Louann (Robert) Servis and Roy Westphal; three in Michigan, Nancy Konrath, Wayne Westphal and Burton Westphal; two in Minnesota, Carol Holland and Ron Westphal; and one in Wyoming, Marilee Dillard. Also he has 40 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, three daughters, one son and three grandchildren.
