UPDATE: Westbound I-84 reopens following vehicle fire

Mountain Home fire fighters battle a fire that engulfed a motor home as it was traveling westbound on the interstate Friday morning.

The westbound interstate near Mountain Home reopened Friday morning following a motor home fire that killed a Nampa man.

The blaze was reported around 8:45 that morning near milepost 96 with westbound traffic rerouted off Exit 99 east of Mountain Home as crews tackled the blaze.

The driver of the motor home was trapped inside and unable to get out before smoke and flames engulfed the vehicle, according to Chief Deputy Mike Barclay from the Elmore County Sheriff's Department.

The name of the victim was not immediately released pending notification of next of kin.
