Man escapes serious injury as fire destroys residence

A fire early Tuesday caused significant damage to a single-family residence off Truman Street southwest of town in what officials have initially ruled was accidental.

Fire fighters and emergency responders were dispatched to the blaze just before 7 a.m. with the trailer fully engulfed by the time crews arrived on scene, said Mountain Home Fire Chief Alan Bermensolo.
