Lucile Pearce

Lucile Hanes Pearce, age 97 of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, at a Boise hospital. Services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at First Congregational Church with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m., and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Lucile, the oldest of five children, was born in Twin Falls on Feb. 17, 1919, to Herbert Hanes and Elsie Waddell Hanes. She attended school in Kimberly and graduated from Kimberly High School in 1937.

After high school, she attended a two-year school in Weiser. Lucile went to work as a payroll clerk for a construction company that was building Mountain Home Air Force Base.

During that time, she met Frank A. Pearce, and they were married in 1944. Together, they had a child, Robert Charles. She worked as librarian at North Elementary and enjoyed playing Scrabble, gardening, and visiting with friends and family.

Lucile was also a proud member of PEO, Order of the Eastern Star and the Congregational Church Women's Fellowship as well as other groups in Mountain Home. She also served on the Mountain Home City Council.

Lucile is survived by her, son Robert (Paula) Pearce, and grandchildren Tara Pearce (Michael) Evanson and Craig Pearce, and great-grandson Nicholas Robert; her sister, Mary Lynard of Boise; daughter in-law Jan Pearce-Fletcher (Allan); and grandchildren Kathi, Scott, Ron, Donn, and Margie and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, her parents and three brothers, Bill, Bob and Charles Hanes and three stepchildren.
