Letter to the Editor

Organizers put together a very memorable reunion

Wednesday, January 13, 2016

Dear editor,

"Once upon a midnight dreary while I pondered weak and weary"... a thought emerged. No! An eruption of recognition exploded. And I am compelled to say...

Dear committee members. Dear classmates. Dear Tigers,

I wish to convey to you my deepest appreciation for all the work you have done in putting together, last June, the reunion of Mountain Home High School's classes of the 1960s. You people are Rock Stars.

I applaud you. You stand tall. I raise my glass to you, and I bow to you. You all did such a fantastic job. I am in awe of your accomplishment -- the hall venue, the band, the table set ups and the displays with all the memorabilia and the Noble Studio's availability. Even the recognition of those who have departed.

Wow! You were stupendous.

I, unfortunately, only attended the last day, and if it was any indication of how the previous day's events went, I am definitely saddened that I missed out on that day.

At the hall, I was especially delighted to have visited with Valarie B and Vickie B, Kenny H and Phil G, Melissa S and Margaret B. They are only some of the people I met there that had brought back fond memories, long forgotten. I enjoyed every single moment and have especially you folks to thank for it. I have missed a few reunions in the past, but I assure you that if there is another, I will definitely be in attendance.

My apologies for not lettering each of you sooner than this. I have no excuse, but do know that I cannot be the only one who is so thankful for the hours and efforts you all expended to put together such a wondrous event. Thank you, thank you and thank you.

With utmost sincerity, yours truly.

-- J.D. Bottger, Mountain Home High School Class of 1968 and almost Class of 1966
