Churches seek to bring joy to children living overseas

Calvary Chapel joined forces with local churches such as First Southern Baptist and Hammet Community Church to collect toys, school supplies and other gifts as part of this year's Operations Christmas Child effort. The local campaign collected enough gifts to fill 334 shoe boxes, which are currently on their way to nations overseas to help children in time for the holiday season.

Local area churches joined forces last month as part of a nationwide effort that seeks to bring the gift of hope and joy to others overseas in time for the holidays.

Hundreds of children will benefit from the generosity of local residents, who provided small toys, school supplies and hygiene items as part of Operation Christmas Child, which will send these gifts to children living in difficult situations around the world.
