"I'm going to happinin to kickinin!"

-- Cindy Bejar

She was born on Aug. 18, 1958, in Harlowton, Mont., to Bill and Jan Widdicombe and was the second youngest of five children. She and her three older sisters, Mardi, Debbie and Becky spent their childhoods on the Musselshell River chasing their rambunctious little brother, Mike, around their small family homestead just outside of town.

In December 1980, Cindy met the love of her life, Max. They were married on July 6, 1985, and raised three beautiful children, Rodney, Amanda and Janet. In 1997, the family moved to Glenns Ferry for a fresh start and they spent the next 19 years overlooking the Snake River from their little house on the farm.

They made many great friends that became their family away from home. She enjoyed fishing, driving, and dancing with her "Poppi," and remained ever faithful to her beloved soap operas. She also loved pretty things and in her last days, could be found rocking her different wigs, fake eyelashes and showing off her 35th anniversary ring.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her love for her children and grandchildren was unmatched, and she fought like the warrior princess that she was to stay with them as long as she could.

She amazed, shocked, and inspired many people, including her doctors by beating the odds even though they were always against her. She always had a positive, but stubborn attitude and was determined to "kick cancer's ass" and she did so for almost 10 years, even though giving up would have been easier at times.

Cindy's determination allowed her to see all three of her children married and got to enjoy five grandchildren. She won many battles but finally lost the war on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, in the presence of her loving family and was placed in the arms of her parents.

Cindy was instantly adored by all who met her, with her signature laugh, funny vocabulary and wild curly hair. She always went out of her way to take care of not only her own family but anyone else she considered so and could frequently be found feeding quite a crowd. She could cook like nobody's business and was most known for her famous soups, which she never had recipes for, making it hard for anyone else to compete.

One of her biggest thrills was seeing the satisfaction and delight on the faces of people eating her food, laughing at her jokes and enjoying all that she had to offer.

She is leaving behind her husband, Max; her son, Rodney (Jodi); her daughter, Amanda (Chris); and her daughter, Janet (Kyle); and five amazing grandchildren. She will be missed beyond words, but this family is strong and will always stay together and help each other through these times, because that is the legacy she left behind.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Angels In Your Corner, 4111 State St., Boise, ID, 83703.

A celebration of life will be held in the spring, as Cindy enjoyed the warm sun on her face and the beautiful green hills spring offers.

Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
