Viola Bucholtz

Viola Helen "Vi" Bucholtz, age 83 of Mountain Home and formerly of Pine, passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, her family was by her side. Per her request, no formal services will be held. Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

She was born in Manistee, Mich., on Oct. 1, 1932, the daughter of Rudolph and Helen Radtke. She attended school there until graduation in 1950.

After graduation, she met and later married John J. Bucholtz, also of Manistee, in July 1951. At that time, John was in the U.S. Air Force, and Vi became a dedicated Air Force wife until John's retirement in 1970.

In those 20 years, they were blessed with two sons, Karl and John Jr., and a wonderful daughter, Teresa "Teri." At retirement time, they settled in Mountain Home and Pine, and enjoyed a fabulous life.

She and John worked and played and raised their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren for the remainder of almost 65 years of marriage. Vi's passing on the evening of Nov. 24th was overshadowed only by the complete family's presence.

Vi is survived by her husband, John of Mountain Home; her son, Karl and his wife, Reva Bucholtz of Ariz.; her son, John Jr., and his wife, Laura Bucholtz of Mountain Home; her daughter, Teri, and her husband, Shaun Sterling of Mountain Home; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother.
