Salute to Broadway show featured gifted musicians

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

What an incredible performance by so many talented singers, dancers and pianists on Nov. 10 for the Broadway Salute to Veterans! As the pictures in last week's paper showed, the performers were enthusiastic and spirited.

The Arts Council loves to support local talent and showcase these incredible gifts. I have been fortunate to have produced about ten of these variety shows over the years, and I am always overwhelmed by the level of talent in our community.

Many, many thanks to Scout Troop 57 for the flag ceremony professionally presented by Henry Bergstol, Liam McCarthy, and Miguel Fuentes. Our singers were Jessica Bergstol, Joseph Armstrong, Ellie and Lainey Gresham, Amy Aggen, Robin Milligan, Patrick Milligan, MHHS Ladies Choir, and MHHS Men's Choir directed by Michael Stear. Our pianists were Katie Gibbons, Chase Van Orden, Alston Donaldson, and Dorraine Aggen. Randy Knutson masterfully handled the technical area of sound and lights. The Nazarene Church once again provided a warm and welcoming venue with the assistance of Mary Ellen Hale.

The Arts Council was created in 1977, and it has been our privilege to bring many different artists to entertain, enrich and educate our community. We are always looking for volunteers or performers so if you are interested, please contact our executive director, Sally Cruser, at 587-3706.

Again, I want to say, "Thank you for the music." The audience appreciated all you did and left with a lighter heart because of the joy you presented.
