Elkettes and $2000 to schools for technology

Mountain Home Elkettes chapter president Audrey Perrine, right, presents a check for $2,000 to Stephensen Elementary School Principal Phil McCluskey, Mountain Home School District Superintendent James Gilbert, West Elementary School Principal Nikki Cruser and North Elementary School Principal Anita Straw during a meeting earlier this month. The Elkettes, an organization that assists the Elks Lodge administer charitable causes, presented the money, which will be evenly divided between the district's four elementary schools, to help them purchase computer tablets for their students. "This is great because we're a little short of our goal of four tablets for each classroom," said Straw as she helped accept the oversized check.
