Just one day after two of its members were voted out of office, the Western Elmore County Recreation District suspended plans to proceed with a contentious recreation building contract.

During a special public hearing Nov. 4, the board unanimously voted to hold off on the construction project until the district's two new board members take office in January.

  • Very smart move, and I think maybe they should hold off until the November elections too. Should the WECRD scuttled there is no funding for such a building. Once that movement started gathering steam the past board got pretty anxious started just jumping fences left and right. No matter, it didn't save their jobs.....people are wising up concerning this project.
