Local couple opens community's new pet cemetery

The Fur-Ever Pasture Pet Cemetery opened recently in rural Mountain Home just outside of Tipanuk. All local pet cemeteries in the Elmore County have closed in the past few years, leaving area residents with few choices for what to do with their pets once they pass away. Mike and Patty Canale have dedicated a portion of their farm to the pet cemetery where dog and cats can be put to rest with dignity and respect in a rural setting.

The Fur-Ever Pasture Pet Cemetery located in a rural setting outside Mountain Home, about a half mile east of Ditto Creek Road, opened Sept. 22.

At the urging of a local veterinarian, Patty and Mike Canale decided to turn a small portion of their 80-acre farm into a place were local residents can properly and respectfully lay their pets to rest.
