Helen Joyce Hurley, age 71 of Mountain Home, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on Saturday, Oct. 3, 2015.

Joyce was born in Altus, Okla., on Nov. 3, 1943. Joyce enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting, camping, and spending time with family. Joyce retired last year after being a bookkeeper at the Merc / Paul's for 35 years.

Joyce was married to Roy Hurley for 52 years. They moved to Mountain Home in 1975 with the U.S. Air Force. They have three children, all of whom reside in Mountain Home.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Roy; son Wayne and his wife, Minda; son Ron and his wife, Debbie; daughter Marci; brother Bobby Peirce and his wife, Carolyn of Glenns Ferry; sister Glenda Beebe of Medford, Ore.; and sister Brenda Nutter of Chillicothe, Texas. Joyce has seven grandchildren: Katie, Cory, Dallas, Wayne, Makinzie, Morgan and Matt, and a great-grandson, Cash.

Upon Joyce's request, a private family service will be held at their home. The family is asking that all donations and gifts be sent to St. Luke's Oncology Department in Boise.

Joyce was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the kindest, sweetest person you would ever meet. She will be dearly missed.

Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.
