Summer is winding down in the Boise National Forest, but that doesn't mean people have stopped heading to the mountains.

There were many people taking advantage of clear blue skies and warm temperatures in the Pine-Featherville area on Sunday.

Jon and Liz Cortez, a couple from the Mountain Home area, spent the last two nights in a dispersed campground along the banks of the South Fork of the Boise River. They were up in the mountain to do some fly fishing and they were hoping to catch a glimpse of some early fall colors.

"The fishing has been pretty slow, but it's outright gorgeous up here this time of the year," Liz Cortez said as she watched her husband climbing up the stream bank with his fly rod.
