Local elections include races for mayor, council

For the first time in eight years, Mountain Home is expecting to see a new mayor take office with possible challenges facing city council members here and in Glenns Ferry during a series of elections scheduled for November.

Mayor Tom Rist, who took office in 2008, announced his intentions of stepping down from public office at the end of his term but added that he could seek reelection if circumstances merit.
