Tuesday, July 28, 2015

Helen Jean (Fisher) Parkkila, age 67 of Mountain Home, beloved wife of William (Bill), passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at a Boise hospital from complications associated with COPD. No formal services are planned.

Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Helen was born on Sept. 20, 1947, in Mitchell, S.D. She was one of the most loving and caring women to ever walk God's green earth. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, darts and just being around family and friends.

Helen and Bill were not only man and wife; they were best friends. They did everything together and went everywhere together mostly because they enjoyed each other's company.

She moved around a lot during the past 18 years because of her husband's job with Air Force Engineering and Technical Service. Aside from Rapid City, S.D., she lived in Abilene, Texas; Mountain Home, Misawa, Japan; West Point, Utah; and finally electing to return to Mountain Home in retirement.

Helen is survived by her husband, Bill; sister Pam Reid and family of Mesa, Ariz.; brother Tom Watson and family of New Underwood, S.D.; sister Dorothy Soulek and family of Rapid City, S.D.; her son Michael Delaney and family of Rapid City, S.D.; stepson William Parkkila and family of Marysville, Wash.; stepdaughter Genie Parkkila and family of Idaho; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, a small donation in Helen's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
