Geneva May

Geneva May, age 78 of Mountain Home, died peacefully on Sunday, July 12, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.

Burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Joyce was born Jan. 6, 1937, the daughter of Lee Otis and Gwendola Jones in Keota, Okla. The family later moved to California where she was raised by her grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth Scoggins.

Joyce attended school in Merced, Calif. She met and eventually married Weston May in December 1956 and spent over 58 years together. They were blessed with five children, Gwen, Debbie, David, Kathie and Julie.

The family settled in Hughson, Calif., and she chose to stay home to raise her children. She taught all her children to be strong individuals, the importance of loving family and the strength that can be gained by believing in God.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Weston; her five children, Gwen May; Debbie and her husband Edmond Hawkins; David and his wife Maria May; Kathie and her husband Mike Neff; and Julie Rohrs; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
