Helen Mineau

Monday, June 1, 2015

Helen M. Mineau, 91, was born in Webster, S.D., on May 6, 1923. She died on April 8, 2015, as the result of a stroke.

A graveside memorial service for Helen will be held Saturday, June 6, at 11 a.m. at the Meridian Cemetery, 895 East Franklin Road, with Pastor Mike Sasso, Eagle Calvary Chapel, officiating.

As a young child, Helen moved with her family to North Hollywood, Calif., where she grew up and graduated from high school. Helen met her husband, Bill, in North Hollywood, and they were married in Yuma, Ariz., on May 16, 1942.

During the war years, Bill was often gone, and Helen continued to live in North Hollywood where both of their children were born.

Early in their married life, Helen and Bill lived for short times in several different places. Their real home, however, was in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, where they lived for over 50 years. Helen made wonderful friends in Glenns Ferry, many of them her co-workers in the bank where she worked for many years.

After Bill passed away, Helen moved to Boise to be closer to her family. Her final years were spent living in her own home in Boise and subsequently in the Grace Assisted Living and Memory Care facility in Meridian.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; four sisters; two brothers; her son, Clair; and granddaughter, Tonya.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Bob); daughter-in-law, Phyllis; grandchildren Chris (Nancy) and Erica (Dan); great-grandchildren Cydney, Ian and Noah; and sisters Gladys and June.

Our family would like to thank the XL Hospice nursing staff for their compassionate care during Helen's final days.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Saint Mary's Foodbank, C/O St. Mary's Church, 2612 W. State Street, Boise, ID 83702.
