Quick thinking credited with stopping house fire

City firefighters mop up after a fire broke out in the back porch of the Airhart residence on East 15th North Street on Thursday. City fire chief Alan Bermensolo credited the quick actions of passerby Trevor Scott, who called 911 for help before using a garden hose to knock down the fire before rescue crews arrived.

A local man's quick thinking was credited with stopping a structural fire at 145 East 15th North St. on Thursday.

Trevor Scott was just a few houses down from the structure when he smelled smoke around 1:30 p.m.
