Lady Tigers' basketball camp set

Sunday, May 17, 2015

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers basketball team hosts its annual girls basketball camp next month.

The camp runs from June 1 to 4 at Mountain Home High School and is open to girls in grades one through six.

The schedule includes first and second graders (both girls and boys) in the Little Dribblers Camp, which runs from 8 to 9 a.m. Third and fourth grade girls will run from 9 to 10:30 a.m. with fifth and sixth grade girls participating from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The listed groups are based on which grade level the children will enter when school resumes this August.

Mountain Home Lady Tigers basketball coach Brent Keener said the sessions will cover various aspects of basketball, beginning with the fundamentals.

"Individual improvement skills and team concepts will be completed each day," he said. "There will be individual and team competitions as well as games."

On the last day of camp, there will be three-on-three, four-on-four and five-on-five competitions with parents invited to come and watch, Coach Keener said.

Cost of the camp is $30 for first and second graders and $40 for those preparing to enter grades three through six. The fee includes a camp T-shirt and camp awards.

The camp will be led by the Mountain Home Lady Tigers coaching staff with help from members of the Lady Tigers basketball teams.

Registration forms are available at each of the district schools. For more information on the basketball camp, call Coach Keener at 571-2891.
