Thinclads win home meet

Mountain Home hosted a Last Chance track and field meet last Wednesday at Tiger Field with the boys squad winning the event with the girls team finishing second overall.

Mountain Home led the boys' competition with 148 points. Kuna was second with 109 and Owyhee, Nev., a distant third with 26. Meanwhile, the team from Elko, Nev., was fourth with 21 points and North Star Charter finished with 15 points.

Franky Reed was a triple winner for the Tigers, winning the 100- and 200-meter dashes along with the long jump. Eric Reetz won the 300-meter hurdles and was the anchor in the 4 X 400-meter relay team along with Will Weygint, Connor Weygint and Jordan Kline-Walden.

Mountain Home's 4 X 100 meter relay team of Nick Degand, Jaden Wright, Connor Weygint and Will Weygint won along with the sprint medley relay team of Will Weygint, Connor Weygint, Ramon Gonzalez and Kyle Pendleton.

Chris Wright finished second in the 300-meter hurdles and long jump and was fourth in the 100-meter dash. Abrahan Salas finished second in the 400 meters and 800 meters and was fifth in the long jump.

Mitch Aguirre was second in the 100- and 200-meter dashes. Walker Harris was second in the 1,600-meter run and third in the 3,200-meter run. Joshua Robinson was second in the long jump, fourth in the 200 meters, and was a member of the Tigers' 4 X 200-meter relay team along with Nick Degand, Henry Bergstol and Enrique Bowman, which finished third. David Parrett had a second-place effort in the pole vault.

Third-place efforts went to Anthony DeSantis in the 1,600-meter run, Jaden Wright in the pole vault and Jordan Kline-Walden in the long jump.

Patrick Harris placed fourth in the shot put as did Will Weygint in the pole vault and Brad Keierleber in the long jump.

Kyle Pendleton had fifth-place efforts in both the 800 meters and 3,200 meters as did Brandon Gomez in both the shot put and discus. Ramon Gonzalez also had a fifth in the 400 meters. John Goodel had sixth-place efforts in both the 800 and 1,600 meters.

Kuna won the girls' competition, racking up 174 points. Mountain Home was second with 115, Elko had 25, Owyhee earned 14 and North Star Charter had two.

Sable Lohmeier was a double winner for Mountain Home, winning both the shot put and discus. Keyondra White won the long jump, finished second in the 100 meters and third in the 200 meters.

Makena Carson won the 100-meter high hurdles, was fourth in the 300-meter hurdles and was a member of the sprint medley relay team along with Whitney Sandberg, Lexi Ogaard and Yuridia Ayala, which finished second. Alexis Georgianna won the 3,200-meter run, was fourth in the 1,600-meter run, sixth in the 400 meters and was a member of the 4 X 400 meter relay team along with Rachel Johnson, Elisabeth Stephens and Jessica Wright, which finished third.

Julianne Mori had a second-place effort in the high jump and anchored the Mountain Home 4 X 100 meter relay team along with Kaila Coley, Mary Paige Shaw and Alyssa Copple, which finished second. Also finishing second was Mountain Home's 4 X 200-meter relay team of Kaila Coley, Maya Carrico, Mary Paige Shaw and Jessica Wright.

Rachel Johnson had third-place efforts in the 100 meter high hurdles, the 300-meter hurdles and the high jump. Whitney Sandberg finished third in the 100 meters and fifth in the 200 meters.

Third-place efforts went to Lexi Ogaard in the 400 meters and Jennifer Walsh in the triple jump.

Finishing in fourth place were Yuridia Ayala in the 100 meters, Jessica Wright in the 800 meters and Caylin Strong in the triple jump.

The Tigers traveled to Caldwell High School on Friday for the Moke Strong Canyon County Classic where the Mountain Home girls finished fifth and the boys came in sixth.

Vallivue won the girls competition with 140.75 points. Skyview was second with 130.83, Columbia third with 103.08, Caldwell fourth with 69 and Mountain Home fifth with 66.75.

There were 10 teams competing in the girls' competition. Rachel Johnson had Mountain Home's lone first-place effort, winning the high jump, and placing fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Julianne Mori finished second in the high jump.

Keyondra White finished third in both the long jump and 200-meter dash, and was fourth in the triple jump.

Whitney Sandberg had a fourth in the 100-meter dash and a fifth place in the 200 meters. Sable Lohmeier had a fourth place finish in the discus, and was eighth in the shot put.

Makena Carson placed seventh in the 100-meter high hurdles, and Alexis Georgianna finished eighth in the 3,200 meter run.

Mountain Home's sprint medley relay finished fourth, the 4 X 100 meter relay was fifth and the 4 X 200 meter relay was seventh.

Vallivue also won the boys competition. The Falcons had 154.75 points, Skyview was second with 134.5, Caldwell third with 119, Nampa fourth with 71, Melba fifth with 54 and Mountain Home sixth with 51.25.

There were 12 teams competing in the boys' events. Dallin Dearing was a double-winner for the Tigers, winning both the shot put and discus. Eric Reetz had Mountain Home's only other first, winning the 300-meter hurdles and finishing sixth in the 110-meter high hurdles.

Kyle Pendleton finished eighth in the 3,200-meter run, and Nolan Pasqualetti finished eighth in the high jump.

In the relay events, Mountain Home's sprint medley relay finished third, the 4 X 100 meter relay was fifth and the 4 X 400 meter relay came in sixth.

The Tigers will host the District III 4A Track and Field Championships this Thursday and Friday at Mountain Home High School's Tiger Field.
