Volunteers restore playground

Friday, May 1, 2015

McKinley Wortham, Brielle Wolfley and Lillie Modgling paint a new hop scotch court pattern on the West Elementary School playground during a community service project Saturday morning. Members of the Latter-day Saints Second Ward in Mountain Home renovated the school playground and surrounding area as part of their "Seven Days of Service" effort. The effort focused on the important of giving versus receiving, organizers said. During the week, volunteers conducted a number of projects, including a cleanup on the city's bike trail in addition to a separate effort to provide meals for less-fortunate individuals in the local area.

MacKenzie Wortham repaints one of the crosswalks in front of the school. Volunteers had enough paint to remark both crosswalks, which had faded over time.
