Guadalupe Garza, age 75 of Mountain Home, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at her home, surrounded by her family. A viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, and burial will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Guadalupe was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Linares Nuevo Leon, Mexico, the daughter of Guadalupe and Julia Aldape.

She was a loving and caring mother and she loved to spoil her grandchildren. She had a big heart, and she would offer her home to those who needed a place to stay.

Guadalupe was an entrepreneur. She had a Mexican café in Grand View. She would also make tamales and sell them all over the communities of Mountain Home, Boise, Caldwell, and Twin Falls and has had special orders from California. She had a lot of customers that loved her tamales. She had a passion in cooking, baking, sewing and crafts.

Guadalupe married Zaragoza Garza in Wilder, Idaho, in 1956. She has been a resident of Elmore County for 45 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, and she volunteered at the Parish Thanksgiving dinner and as a CCD Bus Aide with her husband while he was a bus driver for four years.

Guadalupe is survived by her daughter, Oralia Garza with five daughters of Harlingen, Texas; her sons, Juan Garza with three daughters and five sons of Rupert, Idaho; Zaragoza Garza Jr. with two daughters and one son of Meridian; Martin Garza with four daughters and one son of Portland, Ore.; and Joe Garza with one daughter and two sons of Boise; 24 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Zaragoza Garza; son, Robert; grandchild, Angel, and her parents, Guadalupe and Julia Aldape.
