Betty M. Freeman, 79 of Mountain Home, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at a Boise hospital. Graveside services begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 3, 2015, at Mountain View Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel, in Mountain Home.

Betty was born in Alma, Ga., on Feb. 15, 1936, to James and Addie Aldridge. She married Jack Freeman in September 1955 while he was still in the Air Force. Eventually, they were stationed at Mountain Home Air Force Base and, except for a couple small moves, have made their home in Mountain Home since 1964. She had three children: Mike, Kelly and Mitch.

Mom worked and retired from Idaho First National Bank, which became US Bank.

Mom and Dad loved Idaho, and our family spent summers and weekends traversing the mountains and exploring the West. Mom bowled on leagues until the last couple of years of her life.

Aside from bowling, she loved to play bingo. One thing she never missed was her Thursday lunch date with her close friends.

Betty is survived by her son, Michael Freeman of Virginia; her daughter, Kelly Callentine of Georgia; her son, Mitch Freeman of Nampa; and seven grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her large extended family and many friends. We are comforted to know that she is reunited with her husband and family in the arms of Jesus.

Special thanks go to Carol Olds and Bob Chaney for the assistance and comfort they provided her and her children in the last years of her life.

Donations in Betty's memory can be sent to the Elmore County Historical Society, 180 South 3rd East, Mountain Home, ID 83647 or the Elmore County Sheriff's Association, 2255 East 8th North, Mountain Home, ID 83647.
