Barry L. Anderson, 73 of Mountain Home, passed away on March 16, 2015, after a long battle with cancer. Barry was never married and had no children but had many great friends who will miss him greatly.

Barry was a farmer for his entire life and loved all things that involved cows, dirt and tractors. Barry will always be remembered for his profound love of all of God's creatures, great and small.

Barry was born in Whittier, Calif., on Dec. 16, 1941, to the late Lloyd R. Anderson and the late Mildred Van Courtlandt (Anderson).

Barry was in the United States Army (1962-1968) but was called back to the family farm, which he dearly loved, when his father fell ill. The family farm grew many things over the years, including wheat, corn and hay. Barry also raised cows and pigs and was known to have a horse or two as well. Barry remained on the family farm until his death.

Barry lived life on his own terms, and nobody could ever tell him what to do, when to do it or how to do it. Barry loved guns and always wanted to own a military tank. Thankfully, the tank idea never came to fruition because Mountain Home would have never been the same!

Barry had many great friends in Mountain Home. Barry, in his younger days, loved creating all sorts of mayhem with his best friend and partner in crime, Clayton Colthorp. Prohibition was abolished just for these two.

Barry was always grateful for this special friendship and cherished Clayton greatly. Memories may fade with time but great friendships last a lifetime.

Barry is survived by his many great friends and his current canine companion, "Chomper." Barry thanks everyone for their care and support over the years and the many meals that were delivered while he was ill. Special gratitude to Mary, Beverly, Sharon, Rich, Tracy, Mike, Marilyn, Doug, Don (Wendy), Ingrid, Jace and Stacie for the above and beyond tasks over the years.

Barry will be put to rest in Nebraska with his father. Per Barry's wishes, no funeral service is planned. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Mountain Home Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 10, Mountain Home, Idaho 83647, in memory of Barry's much beloved dogs, Luke and Bliss.

Cremation was under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, McMurtrey Chapel.
