ISIS needs to be exterminated

Wednesday, February 18, 2015

Dear editor --

My views and opinions on ISIS the terrorist group.

I am not a politician or involved in politic. The views and opinions stated herein are from a regular man, disabled, and trying to make it through life. I have a lot of issues of my own to worry about and am not as current on the worlds affairs or it's state of disarray as I want to be. That said, here are my thoughts:

I had heard of ISIS and am aware of the conflict in Syria but don't know much beyond what I see and hear in the news. The beheadings have shown us just how savage the ISIS faction is but the burning of the Jordanian pilot goes way beyond savagery.

When I heard of this news, I was beyond upset and angry. I refused to believe that ISIS did this and wanted to see it with my own eyes. I found the video online that ISIS created which showed the burning of the pilot in it's entirety and, regrettably, watched it. This sight is one I will never be able to get out of my head or forget. I fell to my knees and wept for that poor pilot.

Later that day, after the viewing, I asked myself how a human being, no matter how savage, could do something this inhumane to another human being? I pondered this for hours and came up only one answer: they couldn't! A human being would not do this to another of their kind. Then what are the ISIS faction people? Based on their actions I have come to the absolute and undeniable conclusion that they are not human. Sure they may look like us on the outside but on the inside, they are nothing just like the savage animals that roamed the earth at the dawn of our existence. And based on my opinion (which I hope others will concur with), we should treat them as such. This means the Geneva convention, the standard human rights of wartime, any human rights that anyone can think of are not applicable to any members of the ISIS terrorist faction. They do not deserve to be classified as or considered as human beings. They should be classified as savage animals, void of feelings, and a threat to humanity as a whole.

Since the dawn of time when humanity came upon a viable threat to their existence, we confronted it head on and eliminated it ensuring our survival. I believe the same thing needs to be done to the ISIS terrorist faction and every one of it's followers -- we need to terminate them without prejudice or remorse immediately. If given the opportunity, do you not think that they would do the same to us? It's us or them, and us wins!

I support president Obama's request to Congress asking them to declare war on ISIS. This would just make their extermination "legal and justified" according to our laws. Regardless, something needs to be done to stop them as soon as possible. I am a veteran, disabled/retired, yet would march with our soldiers on this mission if I could. If we could make decisions on ISIS based on their new classification,

Last, lest I forget, the Jordanian pilot. That man could have fought and tried to get himself shot but he did not. He met his death with courage and honor. I have never seen such an act nor can I remember one of this magnitude. That man is the true definition of a hero and needs to be recognized accordingly.

Thank you for reading. Respectfully,

-- James Bradshaw
