Lady Tigers stumble in loss to Lady Bulldogs

Friday, December 5, 2014

The Mountain Home Lady Tigers' inability to put the ball through the hoop was ever present last Tuesday night at Kimberly, as they fell to the Lady Bulldogs 41-23.

Mountain Home was without its leading scorer, Mattie Bennett, who broke her nose in the Gooding game.

The Lady Tigers only converted two of 29 shots in the first half, as Kimberly built up a 21-5 halftime advantage.

Mountain Home warmed up some in the second half, shooting 38 percent, and were outscored just 20-18, but their 20 percent shooting was instrumental in the loss.

"Somehow we've got to find a way to score some points," said Mountain Home girls basketball coach Brent Keener. "We got pretty good looks all night long, but just couldn't convert. Hopefully a couple days off will give us some time to rest and come back refreshed."

Whitney Sandberg led Mountain Home in scoring with 14 points. Sable Lohmeier added six, Taylor Reed chipped in two and Alexis Juarez netted one point.

The 0-4 Lady Tigers were at Jerome on Tuesday and return to action at home Dec. 9 again against Jerome. They open their conference schedule Dec. 11 at home against Skyview.
