Candidates offer their thoughts on key issues

The Mountain Home News recently mailed a questionnaire to the candidates for the two Idaho House seats being contested in District 23, which includes all of Elmore County and parts of Owyhee and Twin Falls counties.

Four of the five candidates responded.

For the Position A representative, incumbent Republican Rich Wills (who did not respond, telling us the questions couldn't be answered "yes" or "no") is being challenged by Democrat Mary Ann Richards.

For the Position B post, incumbent Republican Pete Nielsen is facing a challenge from two candidates -- Democrat Spike Ericson and Independent C.J. Nemeth.

The District 23 Senate seat is held by incumbent Republican Bert Brackett, who is unopposed. None of the county positions up for election this year are contested.
